CHARACTER ASSASSINATION!!!

One mistake you should never make in life, is to allow yourself to be recruited by someone, to hate another person who hasn't wronged you. Hear this: “ We must avoid taking hasty conclusion because of what others are saying about someone else.." What people say about others, says a lot about them. I am repeating this more directly: The things you say about others, says a lot about you! I can tell a lot about a person by what they choose to see in others. CHARACTER ASSASSINATION is a pervasive and destructive phenomenon that is found everywhere. You find it in families, POLITICAL ARENA, PLACES OF WORSHIP, ORGANIZATIONS, WORK PLACES, etc.  CHARACTER ASSASSINATION is the deliberate, malicious, unjustified and sustained effort to damage the reputation or credibility of an individual.  CHARACTER ASSASSINATION is the slandering of a person usually with the intention of destroying public confidence in that person.  CHARACTER ASSASSINATION is the act of loweri...

REDEEMING THE TIME

The word TIME is not new to the greater percentage of the world population, given the fact that the usage is UNIVERSAL and its daily use is of great importance. The truth is time is one of the most valuable commodities on earth, it’s given to everyone on earth irrespective of status, color or race. What we make out of it depends on the value placed on it by the individual involved. No man makes more time on earth than another, it is given freely by God and no one has the right to deprive another person of it. Ephesians 5:1-16 gives us details of the world challenges, which is daily faced by man but resolving it in verse 16 informing us of a very viable solution,  REDEEMING THE TIME, BECAUSE THE DAYS ARE EVIL. Understanding the value of TIME gives us the right perspective about it, this will help us to organize and prioritize our life and time in such a way that it will give us maximum benefit from the usage, the poor and the rich are equally given same amount of ti...

Called to Excellence

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” (Colossians 3:23 , NIV) In today’s society, many people have accepted mediocrity as the norm. They do as little as they can to get by, always looking for the easy way out. If the boss isn’t watching, they’re playing on the computer. They simply go to work to pick up a paycheck, then wonder why they’re not promoted and don’t see increase. It’s because God doesn’t bless mediocrity; He blesses excellence. Whatever we do, we should do it to the best of our ability and set the standard. Remember, you are ultimately working for the Lord. He’s the one who put those talents and abilities in you. You are a steward of the gifts He’s given. Other people may show up late. They may complain. They may cut corners. But don’t sink down to their level — you are working for Almighty God. You are called to excellence! I encourage you today, stay determined. Stay focused. Whether you’re a waitress, a truck driver, an a...

When You Make a Mistake

THIS IS CULLED FROM JOEL OSTEEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9, NKJV) When we make mistakes in life, there are three main things that we need to do. Number one, ask for forgiveness. Number two, receive God’s mercy. And number three, move forward with your life. Let it go and press ahead. So many people today are still beating themselves down over something they did five years ago. They’ve asked God to forgive them a thousand times, but can’t let it go. They go around living depressed, defeated and feeling unworthy. If that’s you, realize today the price has already been paid. The first time you asked God to forgive you, He forgave you. Now you’ve got to receive God’s mercy and press ahead. That mistake did not change who you are to God. My children have never once gotten up in the morning as an Osteen and then done something wrong and gone to bed that night with a different...

How well do you face temptation?

Then the Devil took him to Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, "If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say, 'He orders his angels to protect you, and they will hold you with their hands to keep you from striking your foot on the stone.'" Jesus responded, "The Scriptures also say, 'Do not test the Lord your God.'" Matthew 4:5-7 NLT Facing Temptation Know this: you are not the first [to be tempted], nor will you be the last. And do not despair; it doesn't indicate that you are failing spiritually. The fact is, it indicates that you are on the right track. You might be surprised to learn that it even happened to Jesus. After the dove came the devil. After the blessing came the trial. Immediately following His baptism, Jesus marched into the wilderness to be tempted. Yet Jesus, as our champion and representative, met Satan face-to-face—and won. We can both share in His victory and follow His example. [See Matthe...

Are you wearing the "belt of truth"?

Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth. Ephesians 6:14 NLT The belt of truth "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free," says Jesus (John 8:32). But what will the truth set us free from? First of all, it sets us free from the snares of deception. When people know the truth, they can't be taken in by a lie. You can't convince people to believe in something that they know in their hearts and minds is false. The truth will also set you free from guilt and shame. When you've held tightly to the truth, you don't have to worry about a lie coming back to haunt you. You don't spend your nights lying awake wondering what words of deception might trap and ensnare you. You are free to live with a clean conscience and an innocent heart. Finally, the truth sets you free from judgment. When you trust in the truth of Jesus, you have no more fear of death—physical or spiritual. You know his promises to be true and his words to be life-givin...

Do you honor God by obeying his Word?

Lord, I have not abandoned my job as a shepherd for your people. I have not urged you to send disaster. It is your message I have given them, not my own. Lord, do not desert me now! You alone are my hope in the day of disaster. Bring shame and terror on all who persecute me, but give me peace. Yes, bring double destruction upon them! Jeremiah 17:16-18 How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word and following its rules. Psalm 119:9 NLT Simply obey Jeremiah knew that he had been faithful to God's call to warn the people to repent—a message God's people didn't want to hear. They persecuted Jeremiah. The prophet could have defended himself, but he chose not to. He simply obeyed and waited for God to take whatever action he chose. This is the sort of behavior Paul was talking about when he said, "Never pay back evil for evil to anyone… Leave that to God. For it is written, 'I will take vengeance, I will repay those who deserve it,' says the Lord." (R...
